Welcome from the Dean of Hospitality
On behalf of Fr Abbot and the Ampleforth Community, may I welcome you to our Hospitality website. St Benedict instructs his monks to “welcome guests as Christ himself” and Hospitality has always been an important Benedictine charism.
The search for God brings monks to the Monastery and it also brings our guests, whether it be for a retreat or for a time of reflection on the purpose of life.
I pray that those who come and stay with us, through the prayer and silence of the monastery may have an opportunity to accept St Benedict’s instruction to listen to what the Lord is saying to us.
